Nigeria's trusted platform for artisan credentials, work records, and verification.
Terms of Service

The professional rules for using CraftCred.

These terms explain the expectations that apply when you create an account, issue or verify records, publish a profile, or use any CraftCred workflow.

Last updated: October 2, 2026

1. Who these terms are with

CraftCred is operated by Billaza Technologies Ltd, a private company limited by shares incorporated in Nigeria under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020 (RC 9533555), with its registered office at 26 Oroki Estate, Phase 2, Agunbelewo Road, Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria ("Billaza", "CraftCred", "we", "us", or "our"). These terms are the agreement between Billaza Technologies Ltd and you, as a user of the CraftCred platform.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or otherwise using CraftCred, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, and to use the platform lawfully, honestly, and in ways that support credible credentialing, verification, and professional conduct. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use CraftCred.

3. What CraftCred is

CraftCred is a digital credentialing and verification platform for skilled trades in Nigeria. It lets artisans build a trust record from confirmed work and credentials, lets masters issue and co-sign credentials to the apprentices they train, lets employers check a worker's credentials and history before hiring, and lets trade associations govern membership and credential standards for their trade. CraftCred is infrastructure for recording and verifying this information -- it is not a staffing agency, an employer of any artisan, a guarantor of work quality, or a party to any employment or commercial relationship formed using the platform.

4. Eligibility and accounts

You must be old enough to lawfully enter a working relationship in your jurisdiction to create a CraftCred account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for the activity that happens through your account. You must provide accurate information when registering, applying, issuing, verifying, or updating profile details, and keep it up to date.

You may hold one CraftCred account across multiple roles (for example, an artisan account that later gains master access) rather than separate accounts per role. Creating multiple separate accounts to misrepresent your identity, circumvent a restriction, or manipulate trust scores or verification outcomes is not allowed.

5. Credentials, verification, and platform records

CraftCred provides digital infrastructure for credential issuance, verification, association workflows, public profiles, and work-history signals. Platform records may be suspended, corrected, reviewed, or revoked where required by platform policy, verified disputes, or authorized governance action (for example, by a master, association officer, or CraftCred administrator).

A credential issued on CraftCred reflects the tier of review it actually went through -- self-reported, master-approved, or master-and-association-approved -- and we clearly label which one applies. CraftCred verifies what it is able to verify at each tier; it does not independently re-investigate every claim behind a credential beyond the review process that tier requires.

6. Identity verification (NIN)

CraftCred includes an optional, paid identity verification feature using your National Identification Number (NIN), described fully in our Privacy Policy. This feature is not yet available to the public. When it is enabled, participation is voluntary: declining it does not restrict your use of the rest of the platform, and you are responsible for providing an accurate NIN and matching details if you choose to use it. Verification fees for this feature, once live, are non-refundable once a verification attempt has been processed, whether or not it results in a successful match.

7. Information you provide about other people

Some workflows ask you to provide information about someone who isn't a CraftCred user -- a reference on a master-access application, an employer's contact details on a work-log entry, or a person named in a dispute. By submitting that information, you confirm you have their permission to share it with us for that purpose and that you've told them we may contact them. You're responsible for the accuracy of information you submit about other people, in the same way you're responsible for information about yourself.

8. Disputes and credential review

Anyone -- including an employer who has reviewed a credential -- can flag a concern about a credential through CraftCred's dispute process, covering fraudulent credentials, identity mismatches, conduct concerns, or work-quality issues. A filed dispute is reviewed and may result in no action, an advisory note, a warning, or suspension or revocation of the credential in question.

To keep this process fair, repeated dismissed disputes from the same filer may result in that account being restricted from filing further disputes.

9. Plans, payments, and optional upgrades

Some features are free, while others -- such as premium artisan access, employer Estate Pro access, NIN verification, and physical credential orders -- require payment. Paid plans, prices, limits, renewal timing, and optional add-ons are shown through the platform's pricing surfaces and may change over time; where a price changes for an existing subscription, we'll give reasonable notice before it applies to you. Prices are in Nigerian Naira (NGN) unless stated otherwise.

Payments are processed by Paystack, a licensed Nigerian payment service provider. CraftCred does not store your full card or bank account details -- see our Privacy Policy for exactly what payment information we do keep.

Where a certification fee is agreed between a master, association, and artisan outside of a paid platform feature, that arrangement is handled directly between those parties and is not processed or held by CraftCred.

Paid features are generally non-refundable once the service has been delivered (for example, once a credential has been issued or a verification has been processed), except where required by law or where we decide otherwise at our discretion.

10. Acceptable use

You may not use CraftCred to:

  • Impersonate another person or organization.
  • Falsify training, work, or credential claims, or submit false information about a third party.
  • Abuse verification, dispute, or delegation flows, including filing disputes in bad faith.
  • Send harmful, fraudulent, or abusive content through the platform.
  • Interfere with system integrity, security, or normal operation, including through scraping, automated access, or attempts to bypass rate limits or access controls.
  • Attempt to access data, accounts, or controls without permission.
  • Use the platform in a way that breaches applicable law, including data protection, consumer protection, or anti-fraud law.

11. Intellectual property

CraftCred, its logos, design, and platform software are owned by Billaza Technologies Ltd. You keep ownership of content you submit (such as portfolio photos or work descriptions), and you grant us a license to host, display, and process that content as needed to operate the platform and the public profile or verification pages you choose to make visible. You confirm you have the right to submit any content you upload, including that you have permission from anyone identifiable in a photo you post.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, presents a security or fraud risk, or is required to be restricted by law or authorized governance action. Where practical, we will tell you why. Suspending or terminating an account is separate from, and does not automatically reverse, the status of credentials already issued to or by that account, which follow the credential review process described above.

You may deactivate your own account at any time from your profile settings. Deactivation hides your public profile and signs you out of all devices; it does not erase your underlying records, for the reasons explained in our Privacy Policy's "Your rights and choices" section.

13. Disclaimers

CraftCred is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to keep verification and credential information accurate, but we don't guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every claim made by a user (such as work history submitted by an artisan) is true -- CraftCred verifies what it can verify at each credential tier, and clearly distinguishes verified information from self-reported information.

CraftCred does not guarantee that any artisan, master, employer, or association will act honestly, competently, or in accordance with any agreement made outside the platform. A verified credential or a trust score is a signal based on the information available to us, not a guarantee of future conduct or work quality.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Billaza Technologies Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, or from any transaction, employment relationship, or dispute between users that CraftCred did not itself cause. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of CraftCred is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Nigerian law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Billaza Technologies Ltd harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the platform, or content or information you submit, including information you submit about another person.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of CraftCred that cannot be resolved informally through our Contact page is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.

17. Platform changes

CraftCred may improve, adjust, suspend, or retire parts of the service as the product grows. Where practical, important changes will be communicated through the platform or related support channels.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For a material change, we'll make a reasonable effort to let existing users know. Continued use of CraftCred after an update means you accept the revised terms.

19. Contact

If you need help understanding these terms, use the Contact page on this website or email support@craftcred.africa and the CraftCred team will respond through the configured support channel.
